Axialys therefore offers traditional fax support as part of its Centrex VoIP package.
How does it work?
The fax was originally designed for analogue networks and cannot travel over all VoIP networks. Nevertheless, some solutions do allow you to adapt your existing management solutions.
At first glance, you might think that faxes are not compatible with VoIP technology for the simple reason that faxes use an analogue signal unlike that of typical voice communication. VoIP technology is able to digitise and compress analogue voice communication.
However, this compression and digitisation is designed for voice… not fax! It is therefore necessary to find fax management solutions to overcome this issue.
Continue using your old fax with an ATA
As part of its Centrex VoIP package, Axialys offers traditional fax support thanks to ATA boxes combined with the SIP/T38 protocol (the T38 is the protocol for sending faxes over a computer data network).
The combination of these two techniques allows your organisation to continue using traditional faxes as part of the Centrex telephone system. Above and beyond this feature, the Centrex VoIP package also allows you to benefit from other valuable tools (such as Web to Fax or Fax to Mail).
Traditional fax support can be a real asset for your organisation.
